Many cities on the occupied peninsula were hit.
On the night of July 26, the temporarily occupied Crimea came under drone attack. Explosions were heard in various cities across the peninsula, particularly in the Simferopol area.
The Tavricheskaya Thermal Power Plant was targeted there. This was reported by the Telegram channel Exilenova+.
The occupiers commissioned this power plant back in 2019. It has a capacity of 470 MW.
What is known about the strikes on Crimea
Crimean residents reported explosions in several cities across the peninsula last night.
“In Simferopol, according to reports, the Tavricheskaya Thermal Power Plant is under attack,” Exilenova+ noted.
One of the videos filmed by eyewitnesses shows a flash characteristic of attacks on energy facilities.
Meanwhile, the “Crimean Wind” channel reported that a fire was recorded following the explosions at the Tavricheskaya Thermal Power Plant. And in the Simferopol district, power fluctuations began afterward: “the lights are flickering,” as the channel noted.
“There are also reports of attacks in Yalta and Feodosia,” Exilenova+ added.
According to “Crimean Wind,” residents in Feodosia heard the sound of engines from a large number of UAVs, as well as powerful explosions at 2:12 a.m. and 2:24 a.m.
“It appears that a strike was carried out on radar positions on Mount Tepe-Oba. People are discussing the explosions online. The city’s power went out, and subscribers are reporting a strike on a substation,” the channel noted.
