Belarusians who were injured in a traffic accident in Batumi remain in local medical facilities. Some of them are minors, according to the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as reported by BelTA.

According to the ministry, the Georgian side is providing the necessary medical care to the victims. The Belarusian Embassy is maintaining contact with them and their relatives, and the consul is in Batumi coordinating efforts with the families of the deceased.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stated that diplomats are assisting with medical treatment, paperwork, and preparations for the repatriation of the victims’ remains to Belarus.

A criminal case has been opened in connection with the accident under the article on violation of traffic rules resulting in serious consequences.

As a reminder, on July 25, Georgian media reported on the incident, According to their reports, a minibus carrying a tourist group from Belarus was involved in the accident.

As reported, as a result of the collision with a passenger car, the minibus overturned, and the passenger car crashed into the wall of the Batumi University of Arts building. Two people were killed and seven were injured.
