Kremlin propagandists and Z-war correspondents continue to express outrage over the Russian Armed Forces command’s “brilliant” decision to launch a tank breakthrough in Donbas. As expected, the assault faltered, and the Russian Armed Forces suffered heavy losses.
Russian far-right Z-blogger Alex Parker Returns offered a harsh assessment of the situation, according to Dialog.UA.
“In the fifth year of the ‘Special Military Operation,’ the ‘stripes’ organized a brilliant tank breakthrough right in line with the traditions of our grandfathers. It worked for our grandfathers during the Battle of Kursk, and it will work now, too. What drones? The outcome was predictable. It’s always like that with them,” the propagandist fumed.
Z-channels also note that Russian assault tanks were destroyed by the Ukrainians “like at a shooting range.” Details of the major battle were revealed by the National Guard’s 1st “Azov” Corps. According to its report, the incident took place on July 22 in the Pokrovsk direction. The occupiers from the 8th and 41st Armies, as well as the 90th Division of the Russian Armed Forces, were thrown into the tank breakthrough.
“The 41st Guards Combined Arms Army and the 90th Guards Vitebsk-Novgorod Tank Division of the Russian Armed Forces advanced from the area around the village of Novoekonomicheskoye. At the same time, forces from the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army set out from the area around the village of Vozdvizhenka. For four hours, they attempted to enter settlements in the area around the village of Shakhov,” Azov reported.
The occupiers were provided air cover by attack drones, but this did not save them. The advancing forces ran into minefields; “Azov,” together with other units of the Defense Forces, launched drones against the Russian assault vehicles, and tactical aviation struck the occupiers.
As a result, the aggressor lost 7 tanks, 6 armored vehicles, a BM-21 “Grad,” a “Tornado-S,” nearly fifty units of light equipment, and specialized vehicles. 123 occupiers were killed, and 29 were wounded. The assault was definitively repelled, and the survivors fled.
