The Russians Struck A Supermarket In Chernihiv

Russian forces attacked Chernihiv with strike drones this afternoon. One of the targets was an ATB supermarket. Two people were killed in the strike, including a 10-year-old girl, and another 20 people sought medical attention.
This was reported by reported by the head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration Dmytro Bryzhynskyi and the head of the National Police in Chernihiv Oblast Volodymyr Tymoshko.
According to Brizhinsky, four casualties were initially reported, but the number of injured later increased. Ultimately, 20 people sought medical attention, three of whom were hospitalized.
“Unfortunately, two people died, including a 10-year-old girl. In memory of the victims, tomorrow, July 27, has been declared a Day of Mourning in Chernihiv. Our sincere condolences go out to the families and loved ones of the victims,” said the head of the city’s military administration.
According to preliminary findings by the National Police’s bomb disposal unit, the supermarket was struck by a “Geran-4” rocket-powered drone equipped with a video camera.
Vladimir Timoshko, Chief of the National Police in Chernihiv Oblast, stated that, according to preliminary data, the strike was deliberately aimed at a civilian facility.
“This indicates that this is not military action; it is an act of terrorism, an act of their senseless hatred toward everything associated with Ukrainian identity and Ukraine. In particular, their hatred toward any person, including civilians,” Timoshko said.
In addition to the supermarket, Russian drones struck two other targets in the city. According to the city council, a garage and a car were damaged at one location, while three cars caught fire at another.
Brizhinsky also reported that a total of three sites in Chernihiv were struck: an ATB supermarket, a service station, and a warehouse. Emergency services continue to work at the sites, dealing with the aftermath of the attack and finalizing the data on casualties and damage.
