In Chisinau, he was called “an instrument of the Kremlin’s hybrid influence.”

As of July 4, the Russian Center for Science and Culture (Russian House) in Chisinau has been closed indefinitely, according to Rossotrudnichestvo.

“At the end of last year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova issued a note informing us that the Russian-Moldovan intergovernmental agreement on the establishment and operation of cultural centers, signed in 1998, would not be renewed for a new five-year term. Therefore, it is with deep regret that we must announce that, effective July 4 of this year, the Russian House in Chisinau will be closed,” the statement reads.

In November 2025, the Moldovan parliament of Moldova adopted in the second and final reading the denunciation of the agreement with Russia on the establishment and operation of cultural centers. This decision was endorsed by the republic’s government, which called the Russian House in Chisinau “an instrument of the Kremlin’s hybrid influence,” as well as by President Maia Sandu herself.
