The Drone Shot Down Over Latvia May Have Been Part Of A Russian Provocation

The Lithuanian prime minister did not rule out a "false-flag" operation.

Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius stated that it cannot be ruled out that the incident involving a downed drone over Latvia could have been a “false-flag operation,” according to Delfi.

However, despite the statement, Sinkevičius clarified that the situation will only become clear once the drone itself or its wreckage is found

“The downed drone has not yet been found. I believe it will be found soon, and then it will become clear what kind of unmanned aerial vehicle it is and who it belongs to; experts will likely even be able to trace its target using the microchips,” said the Lithuanian prime minister.

Incidentally, Lithuanian Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas stated last week that the country’s intelligence services have information indicating that Russia is considering the possibility of provocations in the Baltic region, though no final decision has been made yet, and no specific date has been set.

According to him, the Kremlin is considering the possibility of striking critical infrastructure targets in the Baltic states, and it cannot be ruled out that Russia might use Ukrainian drones for such operations.
