An Exhibition Featuring Works By 18 Belarusian Artists Who Have Left The Country Will Be Held In Vienna

In recent years, the project's exhibitions have been held in the Czech Republic and Poland.

On August 9, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. in Vienna (Austria), at St. Elizabeth’s Church (St.-Elisabeth-Kirche der Pfarre zur Frohen Botschaft, 9), the opening of the international exhibition “Belarusian Artists in Exile” will take place. The organizers informed the editorial staff of “Zerkalo” of this.

The exhibition brings together works by 18 Belarusian artists who were forced to leave Belarus following the events of recent years and who today continue their creative work in various European countries. Despite living in exile, their art remains inextricably linked to Belarusian culture, historical memory, and hope for the future.

The project was created and is curated by Diana Shilina. In recent years, the project’s exhibitions have taken place in the Czech Republic and Poland, and this current exhibition will be the first large-scale presentation of the collection in Austria.

The exhibition features paintings, graphic art, and works of contemporary art. The works explore themes of freedom, human dignity, memory, faith, forced emigration, and the preservation of national cultural identity. Each painting tells the personal story of an artist who found themselves far from their homeland.

Visitors will be able to view works by the following artists: Olga Yakubovskaya, Tatiana Savich, Irina Khvainitskaya, Natalia Bord, Yaroslav Kirvel, Lana Gribanska, Vladislav Zalensky, Maria Sanko, Svetlana Ilyashenko, Evgenia Poluyan, Ekaterina Evdokimova, Ivan Zhukov, Olga Silivanchik, Alina Lark, Andrei Dukhovnikov, Maciej Welchas, Alexander Zhdanovich, and Pavel Voinitsky.

The exhibition will be open from August 9 to 30, 2026. Admission is free.
