Budanov Identified The Main Topic Of Discussion During The CIA Director’s Visit To Moscow

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kirill Budanov stated that the war in Ukraine was not the main topic of discussion during the visit of the director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency John Ratcliffe to Moscow. Budanov made this statement in a comment to “Novini.LIVE” on Thursday, August 27.

According to him, Ratcliffe’s visit and meetings with Russian officials were originally planned “somewhere else,” but were rescheduled.

“The main topics there were relations between the two countries,” Budanov said, adding that the war in Ukraine was discussed, but it was not “the main issue of the meeting.”

In response to media reports that the purpose of Ratcliffe’s visit was to warn the aggressor country that an attack on NATO countries is unacceptable, Budanov called for “restraint in public statements.”

On August 26, U.S. President Donald Trump called the CIA director’s visit to Moscow “semi-routine” and denied rumors that it was linked to a threat of a Russian strike against the United Kingdom. The Kremlin stated that the CIA director had been in contact with Russian intelligence agencies and had no plans to meet with Putin.
