The format of the negotiations is intriguing.

During his visit to Moscow on August 25, U.S. CIA Director John Ratcliffe held talks with the director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service Sergey Naryshkin. This is reported by Russian media, according to Dialog.UA.

While speaking with journalists, Naryshkin acknowledged that he had met with Ratcliffe in Moscow on August 25 and stated that, allegedly, “there is nothing unusual about this.”

According to him, the meeting covered issues that fall within the purview of intelligence services. The SVR director said that he meets with the heads of intelligence agencies from various countries practically every week. He stated that the meetings take place both in person and online. “In the practice of intelligence agencies, in-person meetings between leaders are part of the job,” Naryshkin asserted.

On August 25 of this year, a U.S. military transport plane that had departed from Andrews Air Force Base unexpectedly landed in Moscow.

It turned out that CIA Director John Ratcliffe had flown into the Russian capital. Initially, many media outlets reported that Ratcliffe would meet with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, but that did not happen.

The CIA director held talks with representatives of the Russian intelligence services. It is still unclear exactly what they discussed.
