Lukashenko Began Praising His Crazy Idea

The dictator shared the results of an experiment in drafting farmers into the army.

Lukashenko has ordered that those who perform poorly and fail to observe work discipline in agriculture, especially during the harvest season. Today, August 27, he shared the results of the experiment:

“Let me give you an example. Some reacted with ‘hee-hee, ha-ha’ when I said at a conference call: the slackers, the drunks, and others unwilling to work the fields during harvest—off to the ‘front.’ To the army, to special operations forces, to the border—to Krupko and Parkhomchik; Khrenin is in charge,” said the head of government

“I didn’t believe it. I said, ‘Double-check it; see for yourself.’ A week later, I asked again. He said to me, ‘Alexander Grigoryevich, may I give them a commendation?’ I said, ‘Are you out of your mind? They’re drunks, good-for-nothings…’ Their faces are bright; they work hard and do everything the officer tells them to. Well, no complaints.

And they say the army isn’t a reform school, as Volfovich said. Yes, it’s not a camp. But it’s a very good school for discipline. Decent guys. They’ve gone through retraining. I said: “Give everyone weapons, just like the military. Change their clothes, shave them, give them haircuts. And send them there.” Combat coordination—everything was done according to the latest standards. Mobile groups, tactical groups. Everything we need to defend the border. We’re not fighting in Ukraine, but we have to defend the border. And we sent 170 people there right away,” he said.

Lukashenko added that, under field conditions, the conscripts had set up their dugouts better than apartments.

“They dug their dugouts better than they’ve furnished apartments in Minsk. So much for drunkards and the like,” he said.

“We couldn’t get them organized. But in the army, Khrenin and his officers organized their work and are asking that they be awarded. I say, ‘Let’s start with you awarding them—I’m not against it.’ He’ll be awarding individual top performers there. So, people can work,” Lukashenko concluded, noting that “there are certain methods and levers for influencing those who don’t want to properly fulfill their work duties.”
