A Belgorod resident asked an awkward question about air defense.
A Russian military expert and Z-propagandist lashed out at a listener who dared to criticize Russia’s air defense system. The incident occurred during a broadcast on the state-run radio station “Komsomolskaya Pravda,” according to Dialog.UA.
A Belgorod resident called the studio and tried to ask Barants why the city was so poorly defended against drone strikes.
“Belgorod was attacked by 16 drones, of which only 3 were shot down. The remaining 13 reached their targets. I can tell you this with certainty because I was counting… And we can see the destruction ourselves. How could this have happened? Did our air defense fail? Or do we no longer have air defense?” the Russian man asked.
Baranets quickly tried to cut off the listener. “I’ll answer you, sir. Our air defense is not sufficient to completely seal off your district and your region. We don’t have enough! The answer is as simple as boiled turnips, sir. We understand each other; I’ve given you my answer. All the best! All the best to you, I said!”—declared the propagandist.
The caller was outraged by the propagandist’s mocking tone, noting that these attacks are leading to the deaths of people, including children. After that, Baranets lost his temper, began mimicking the caller, and eventually started shouting.
“What, don’t I know that? (…) I understand that you want to vent. I’ll say it again—there wasn’t any, there isn’t any, and there won’t be any for another 50 years (good air defense near Belgorod—ed.)! Yes, that’s the situation we’re in. We’re letting them through. Right now, the only strategic task is to find a countermeasure. We’ve been looking for 4.5 years… And we can’t find one… Something is being done. Not enough, I won’t deny it. Not enough! A porous air defense system? Porous!” Baranets declared.
