What's wrong with A1's rate plans?
A woman from Minsk @i.emiliiya had to pay four times more for her mobile service than she had planned. And she was unable to reach customer support.
“I’m absolutely devastated! — she writes on Threads. — A1, I thought I’d be happy to use your rate plans, but no. Instead of 27 rubles and some kopecks (39 rubles as of today), I paid 100 rubles this month. That’s almost four times as much, and it’s all because I can’t buy SMS services separately—I had to pay 10–15 times each time, and that’s how this amount added up.
And another thing. How can I even contact you at all? I couldn’t get through to an operator on any of the numbers—it was always an automated response.”
Social media users explained how to reach customer support. The website Charter97.org features some comments:
— I figured out how to get past that robot. No matter what it asks, I say, “Connect me to a specialist.” It works on the third try.
— There’s a number without an automated system, but it’s a paid line. And right after the first call, you’re answered by “the very first specialist who supposedly just got the hang of it.”
— Go to an A1 store and talk to the staff there. And, yeah, I think there used to be a plan like that, but only via text. I don’t know how it is now. When you call, wait until the robot calms down and connects you to a staff member. It takes a long time. But I waited it out.
