An Underground Arsenal Was Discovered At A Local Resident's Home In The Soligorsk District

Unregistered firearms and more than 130 rounds of ammunition were discovered.

Police officers discovered unregistered firearms and ammunition in the possession of a resident of the Soligorsk District, according to "Zerkalo" .

The man was found to be in possession of an IZH and a TOZ shotgun, more than 130 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, as well as parts from other firearms.

According to the man, he discovered some of the weapons in a shed on his late father’s property. Other parts were brought to him by acquaintances. As a local resident explained, they found the weapons while dismantling an old outbuilding in one of the district’s villages, but instead of turning the find over to the police, they gave it to him.

The man also explained that he did not report the weapons because he feared trouble due to a previous conviction for poaching.

All of the items found were seized and sent for forensic analysis. Based on the results, a decision will be made regarding the legal assessment of the actions of those involved in the illegal possession of weapons and ammunition.
