The rapper will donate all the money to help children.
Eminem has decided to part with part of his sneaker collection for charity. The rapper has put more than 100 pairs of shoes from his personal collection up for auction, and all proceeds will go to a charity that helps children and teenagers from disadvantaged families, according to Reuters.
The collection includes rare models from Nike, Jordan, Adidas, and PUMA. Each pair comes with its original box and Eminem’s autograph. Some of the sneakers were personally worn by the musician, making them particularly appealing to fans.
Among the most expensive lots were two pairs of Air Jordan 3 “Slim Shady” Player Exclusive sneakers. A total of 45 pairs of these sneakers were released ahead of Eminem’s performance at the 2022 Super Bowl. Their estimated value ranges from $25,000 to $35,000 per pair.
Interest in the collection was high even before the auction ended. Some lots had already significantly exceeded their initial estimates. For example, the price of a single pair of Nike Air Max 95s rose from $25 to $1,250 after two dozen bids.
“One hundred percent of the proceeds from this auction will go to support the Marshall Mathers Foundation,” said Julien’s Auctions expert Mitch Kaba.
