A Company That Manufactures UAVs Caught Fire In Poland

The possibility of sabotage cannot be ruled out.

A fire broke out overnight at a WB Electronics facility in the Polish town of Skazhisko-Kamienna; the company specializes in the production of composite structures and control systems for unmanned aerial vehicles, according to onet.pl.

The fire alarm was triggered shortly after midnight. The fire was contained and extinguished, but its cause has not yet been determined—among other possibilities, arson is being considered. The fire originated in the immediate vicinity of the production facility and a warehouse containing electronic components.

Police are on the scene, and fire safety experts have also been brought in to assist with the investigation—the plant’s premises are currently being inspected.

Given the nature of the plant, officers from the Polish Internal Security Agency (ABW) have also been brought in to investigate the incident.

“Naturally, such incidents attract the interest of the intelligence services. Officials are constantly gathering information on this matter, analyzing it, and checking for possible sabotage,” stated Jacek Dobrzyński, press secretary to the Minister-Coordinator of the Special Services.

The parent company, WB Group, in turn, assured that the fire was minor and that the facility will resume operations immediately after all necessary procedures are completed.
