Gasoline Imports From Belarus To Russia Have Reached Their Limit

It is unlikely that supplies will increase any further.

According to a source "Kommersant" in the industry, current volumes of gasoline shipments from Belarus to Russia are already close to the capacity limits of Belarusian refineries. At the same time, over the 28 days of August, sales of Belarusian gasoline on the Russian exchange fell by about four times compared to July, and average daily shipments from Belarus decreased by 11.4%.

Since the onset of fuel supply disruptions, the share of Belarusian gasoline in the Russian market has grown, though it is still difficult to assess it precisely. According to a source speaking to Kommersant, Belarusian refineries supplied Russia with about 290,000 metric tons of gasoline from January through May, whereas from June through August 26, the volume had already exceeded 570,000 metric tons.

The Kommersant source believes that a further increase in supplies from Belarus is unlikely. An additional risk factor is the scheduled maintenance at the Novopolotsk refinery in September, which could limit Belarus’s export capacity.
