Belarusian patriot Gennady Shepelev has passed away. His friends called the former railroad worker “the guardian of the Krapivno Field.”

Gennady Shepelev was 70 years old. He lived in Barani (Orsha District).

Gennady Shepelev was known as the “guardian of the Krapivno Field”: on the eve of the anniversary of historic victory near Orsha on September 8, 1514, he would set up his tent on the battlefield and spend the night at legendary sites, as if protecting them from the enemy.

Gennady Shepelev had been in a coma since September 8.
