The Controversial Boeing Has Landed In Minsk Again

It belongs to Iran.

An Iranian Boeing 747-281F cargo plane with the registration number EP-FAB, owned by Fars Air Qeshm, was reported to have arrived in Minsk. According to data from flightradar24, the Boeing landed in the Belarusian capital today.

It should be noted that the aircraft had previously been in the Belarusian capital since August 26 and had made several flights over the course of two days.

On the morning of August 28, the Iranian aircraft took off from Minsk again, heading for Tehran. At 2:43 p.m., the aircraft successfully landed in the Iranian capital. Thus, over the course of several days, the Iranian Boeing completed a round-trip flight from Tehran to Minsk and back to Tehran, with intermediate maneuvers over Russian territory.

The Boeing 747-281F, serial number 25171, has a questionable reputation. On January 24, 2019, the U.S. Department of the Treasury added Fars Air Qeshm and two of its aircraft, including EP-FAB, to its sanctions lists.

According to U.S. authorities, the carrier was regularly used to transport military and special cargo on behalf of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, particularly to Syria.
