The usurper recalled the "blue hands."

Alexander Lukashenko “has had his fill of this power,” but is not yet ready to relinquish it, as he has not found anyone who could “take over the country and hold on to it.” The dictator made this statement on September 17 during his speech at the “Youth. Belarus. Future.”

From the podium, Lukashenko urged the audience “never to believe anyone who says” that he “holds on to power with hands turned blue.”

“May God have mercy on those who say such things. I’ve had my fill of this power—I can’t take any more. The only question is: ‘Are you capable of taking over the country and holding onto it?’ If you are, start [running the country] tomorrow. To be honest, I can’t answer that question in the affirmative just yet. Please don’t take offense,” Lukashenko said.

Lukashenko had previously stated on multiple occasions that he had “had enough” of power and would not “cling to his seat with blue-frozen fingers” if the people withdrew their trust in him.
