A Vitebsk Resident On “Beltelecom”: Constant Service Outages And Trouble Connecting To The Network

What is the payment for?
A resident of Vitebsk __juli__and_ily complained on Threads about the service provided by the telecommunications operator “Beltelecom.” According to her, she can’t work or watch videos online.
“Guys, anyone who uses Beltelecom’s services—tell me, how’s your Wi-Fi, and the internet in general? ” writes a resident of the regional center. “We have ‘Yasna 200,’ but only on paper—in the app and on the price tag. In reality, there are constant connection drops, network searches, lag, and freezes. It’s like we’re just throwing our money away.
It’s practically impossible to watch a movie. I won’t even get into work-related issues.
What can be done to fix this? Support has been giving the same standard response—“reboot the modem”—for two years now.
Some social media users have attributed the poor connection quality to a faulty modem. The website Charter97.org lists some comments:
- The provided router is very weak. Only one port (1 Gbps) delivers power over the cable, provided you’re using a Cat5e cable.
- Set up a decent router in the right spot and you’ll be all set.
- You need to take your apartment’s layout into account. It’s foolish to expect fast speeds and a stable connection if the router is near the front door and you’re in a room on the other side of the apartment—especially one in a corner.
- Unfortunately, there’s no alternative.
