Ukraine Has Formed The "Carpathian Eight"

Ukraine has established a new cooperation framework called the “Carpathian Eight” (C8). It is designed to strengthen cooperation among countries in the region in the areas of security, energy, and the economy.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a statement by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to the Ukrainian president, this is the first time the Carpathian States Summit is being held in Ukraine, and it brings together regions and communities from neighboring countries. The C8 format includes eight participants:


Romania;

Serbia;
Poland;
Slovakia;
Czech Republic;
Austria;
Hungary;
the European Union as a whole.

The President of Ukraine emphasized that the creation of this alliance should bring the countries closer together and establish a new platform for addressing common challenges.

“This is a significant first step that should bring our countries even closer together and create another strong element of cooperation at the EU level—security, energy, a significant expansion of logistics and cross-border economic cooperation, and substantial support for our communities,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
