Tusk: The War Is Entering A Decisive Phase

Russia’s war, aimed at crippling the Ukrainian economy, is entering a decisive phase. Ukraine and its allies face difficult and challenging weeks and months ahead.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk told reporters on the sidelines of the summit, according to UNIAN.

“Difficult and challenging weeks and months lie ahead for all of us, not just Ukraine,” Tusk said.

The Polish prime minister noted that “the war aimed at exhausting the Ukrainian economy appears to be entering a decisive phase.”

According to him, Russian attacks are now aimed not only at destroying energy infrastructure but also at Ukrainian industry.

Speaking about the situation near the Polish border, Tusk noted that recent events are cause for concern. At the same time, Poland is preparing for various scenarios.

“We are talking about possible scenarios, not about what is bound to happen. Poland and other countries are already preparing for various scenarios, including more dramatic ones. But today, no one can say with 100 percent certainty what will happen,” he said.

Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk urgently convened a meeting of ministers with representatives of the government, the military, and the intelligence services following Russian strikes on the Yagodyn station near the Polish border.

At that time, Tusk warned that the coming months will be a period of intense activity on Russia’s part, and did not rule out that the escalation could also affect Polish territory.
