Russian troops are currently there "in less-than-ideal conditions."
As of September 18, the Liman sector has been transferred from the Joint Forces Group’s area of responsibility to the command of the new “Center” military formation.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing a statement by the spokesperson for the Joint Forces Operation Viktor Tregubov during a televised marathon.
According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces representative, the changes affect only this section of the front. The Kupiansk and Yuzhno-Slobozhansk directions remain under the jurisdiction of the Joint Forces Operation.
Who is now in command of the sector
Tregubov also spoke about changes in the command structure of the Third Army Corps. Previously, it was part of the Joint Forces Operation, but now it falls under the new “Center” Operational Command.
“As of today, the Liman sector is being transferred to us; it is once again under the command of the ‘Center’ Operational Command,” the spokesperson explained.
What’s Happening on the Front
Separately, Tregubov assessed the situation in the Liman sector. According to him, Russian troops there are currently “not in the best shape.”
He also noted that there are no signs of optimism regarding the situation in this sector, not even among Russian propagandists.
