The Ukrainian army relies not on numerical superiority, but on the initiative of its soldiers, new technologies, and unconventional tactics.

One example of this approach was Operation “Vivaldi” in the north of the Donetsk region, according to France24.

Ukrainian units are using drones, robotic systems, and reconnaissance technologies to compensate for a shortage of personnel and equipment. The main objective is not simply to launch strikes, but to disrupt Russian troop supply lines, halt their advance, and regain the initiative on the battlefield.

“The most powerful force is human potential,” the Ukrainian military notes.

Freedom of action at the grassroots level plays a key role. Soldiers and sergeants are given more opportunities to make decisions on their own and find new ways to use equipment. This approach allows them to adapt more quickly to changes on the front lines.

Operation “Vivaldi” has become one of the most notable examples of this concept. According to the Ukrainian command, during the first two phases of the operation, 125 square kilometers of territory were returned to Ukrainian control, including 50 square kilometers that had been under Russian occupation. These figures have not been independently verified.

Technology is viewed not as a replacement for military personnel, but as a tool that enhances their capabilities. Drones are used for reconnaissance and strikes, while robotic systems help deliver ammunition and operate in hazardous areas.
