Macron Revealed Whether He Is Ready To Become President Of France For A Third Term

The next presidential election in France will take place as early as next year.

French President Emmanuel Macron has indicated that he may lead the country again in the future if voters support his candidacy, according to RBC-Ukraine reports, citing Variety.

Macron noted that the French Constitution does not allow him to run for a third consecutive term as president. This means he will not participate in the 2027 election.

“Let’s be frank: according to our Constitution, you are entitled to two terms—two consecutive terms. So I will complete my term in May of next year, and the French people will elect someone else,” the head of state emphasized.

Journalists also asked Macron whether he might return to the Élysée Palace once the law allows it.

Macron confirmed that such a scenario is indeed possible.

"I’m not ruling anything out." A return would be quite unusual, but we’ll see. Life is unpredictable, sometimes even more so than in the movies,” the French leader noted.

Interestingly, Macron recently stated that he has no plans to continue his political career after his term ends in 2027.

“I wasn’t involved in politics before, and I won’t be involved in politics afterward,” he said, effectively ruling out the possibility of a further political career after the end of his second term.

However, Macron’s latest statement suggests that he does, in fact, allow for the possibility of returning to national politics in the future.
