People in the Russian president's inner circle have been infected.

On September 29, it was reported that top officials in the Russian presidential administration had contracted viruses. The head of the presidential administration, Anton Vaino, and his deputy, Sergei Kirienko, tested positive for COVID-19 and the flu, according to “Dialog.UA”.

Since the current situation poses a threat to Vladimir Putin’s health, his subordinates have been placed on sick leave. This was reported on the VChK-OGPU account on the social network X.

As far as can be told, nothing has changed since 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic: members of the presidential administration are still getting tested to avoid infecting Vladimir Putin. A local outbreak has shifted all responsibilities within the Presidential Administration to Alexei Gromov, who has remained healthy.

There may be more to the situation in Putin’s administration than meets the eye, as rumors circulated before the State Duma elections about the possible dismissal of Anton Vaino and Sergey Kirienko, followed by their reassignment to other positions.

The leaked information about viral illnesses may simply be a smokescreen for reshuffles in the Kremlin.
