Drones Launched A Massive Attack On Sochi: Air Defense Systems, An Oil Depot, And A Gas Station Are On Fire

There are several major fires in a Russian resort town.

The Russian resort city of Sochi in the Krasnodar Krai was subjected to drone attacks throughout the night. Online reports indicate a number of strikes and fires in the city, according to "Focus" reports.

In Sochi, according to preliminary reports, drones struck Russian air defense installations, a large oil depot, and a gas station. This was reported by OSINT analysts, citing eyewitness accounts.

The attack on the city began around 12:30 a.m.: Sochi Mayor Andrei Proshunin had warned of the threat of drones being used in the city. Over the next few hours, at least until 5:00 a.m., explosions continued to be heard in Sochi and air defense systems were actively engaged.

Initially, around 02:00, OSINT analysts reported explosions and secondary detonations in Sochi. According to monitoring channels, the Russian S-400 long- and medium-range anti-aircraft missile system may have been targeted. However, there is no official confirmation yet.

Shortly thereafter, analysts reported that several more fires had been spotted in Sochi. According to monitoring channels citing eyewitnesses, drones also struck a large Lukoil oil depot, which had already been attacked about a year ago. A major fire broke out at the site.

Subsequently, the Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters confirmed an attack on an oil depot in Sochi. Russian media report that a fire broke out on the facility’s grounds as a result of a “massive drone attack” on the city. It is claimed that as of 5:00 a.m., the fire had allegedly already been extinguished, although eyewitnesses report otherwise.

In addition, according to OSINT sources, one of the local gas stations in Sochi caught fire last night. Debris from a drone allegedly landed there, causing the fire.
