The majority of the world has spoken.

A favorite claim of Putin’s propaganda—that “the majority of the world supports us”—was convincingly refuted at SCO summit in Bishkek by that very majority.

Prime Minister Modi, drawing on the moral authority of his great compatriots—Buddha and Gandhi—and speaking not even on behalf of the majority but of all of humanity, called on (demanded) Putin to stop the senseless bloodshed in the heart of the Eurasian continent.

President Xi, less prone to emotional assessments, noted the helplessness of all existing global institutions, including the UN, and their inability to stop the devastating war—now in its fifth year and having already claimed hundreds of thousands of lives. Xi stated that he personally intends to strengthen coordination and communication with the parties to the conflict in Ukraine to achieve a political resolution of the crisis.

He also recalled that China had presented a peace plan for a settlement in Ukraine as early as the summer of 2024. It contained 12 points, including respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, as well as an immediate ceasefire and an end to hostilities.

It is telling that none of the 28 documents signed by the participants at the Bishkek summit addressed the most dramatic of the issues they discussed. Such were the depths of the disagreements between one of the participants and the global majority. The plans announced by Chairman Xi to personally coordinate the process of ending the war in Ukraine terrified the imperial maniac, who was already completely dependent on him.

He looked exceptionally pitiful and flustered during his hour-long stand-up routine in front of the Kremlin press corps.

On the other hand, how naturally the already planned visit of Andrei Sibiga, and then the historic visit of Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Beijing, fit into Xi’s coordination efforts.
