A Peruvian citizen shared some shocking facts.
Commanders of the Russian Federation’s occupying army are torturing foreign citizens they have recruited to fight in the war against Ukraine in order to gain access to their bank cards. This was reported by Oscar from Peru, whose right thumb was cut off by the Russians, according to Dialog.UA after monitoring social media.
According to Oscar, when he was drafted into the Russian army, his unit commander—whose call sign was “Asik”—began torturing him with the help of his subordinates.
The Russians wanted to gain access to the Peruvian’s bank card to get his money. The Russian commander threatened to kill Oscar and burn his body if he didn’t reveal the PIN for his bank card.
Ultimately, the Peruvian mercenary had his right thumb cut off. Witnessing all this, the other Peruvians immediately handed over their bank cards to the Russian soldiers and revealed their PINs.
This incident came to the attention of the higher command of the Russian Armed Forces. Oscar says that they are trying to “cover up” this crime.
According to information from the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as of the summer of 2026, 459 Peruvians had enlisted in the Russian army to fight in the war against Ukraine. Of these, 11 were killed, 114 are missing, 3 were taken prisoner, and 31 left Russia.
