The chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev stated that reports claiming the construction of new metro stations has been delayed by two years are false, and that the authorities are proceeding according to plan. He made these remarks on state television, according to “Zerkalo”.

Earlier, the publication “SB. Belarus Today” reported that three new stations on the third metro line would not open until the end of 2030.

Vladimir Kukharev urged people “not to react to the incomprehensible fake news that has recently been circulating, claiming that the Minsk City Executive Committee is postponing the project by two years and extending the metro construction timeline.”

“That’s not true; we’re working on schedule, according to plan. In 2028, we plan to complete construction of the second phase of the third metro line,” he said.

He also announced the start of construction on the fourth, circular, metro line next year.

It should be noted that on August 26, “SB. Belarus Today,” a publication of Alexander Lukashenko’s administration, reported that three new stations on the Zelenoluzhskaya Line—“Perespa,” “Komarovskaya,” and “Park of Friendship of Peoples”—are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2030.

In August 2023, the chief engineer of “Minskmetrostroy” Arkady Arutyunyan said that construction of the northern section of the Zelenoluzhskaya Line is expected to be completed 66 months after work begins—that is, approximately by the end of 2028.

In April 2026, it was reported that the stations currently under construction—"Park of Friendship of Peoples," "Komarovskaya," and "Perespa"—are expected to open as early as 2028–2029.
