Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Ambassador: The Security Of The Entire Region Depends On Belarus's Future

Yaroslav Chornogor, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs responsible for relations with unfriendly countries, stated that the security of the entire region depends on a democratic transition in Belarus. He wrote about this on his Instagram.

“For Ukraine, this is not just a matter of relations with a neighboring state: the security of the entire region depends to a large extent on Belarus’s future. That is why it is important, even today, to maintain an open and responsible dialogue with those who advocate for the democratic and sovereign development of Belarus,” the diplomat wrote.

Chornogor noted that these topics were discussed during his meetings with the Youth and Public Councils under the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to him, special attention was paid at these events to the prospects for democratic transition in Belarus and cooperation with Belarusian democratic forces.

As a reminder, Yaroslav Chornogor, a Ukrainian expert on Belarus and Russia, was appointed ambassador-at-large in May 2026. His responsibilities include engaging with democratic forces and national movements in unfriendly countries.
