Ukrainian track and field athlete Yaroslava Maguchikh took second place.
The Diamond League high jump final took place in Brussels. Ukrainian Yaroslava Mahuchikh battled it out to the very end with Australian Eleanor Patterson, but was unable to win the gold medal—her final result was 199 cm.
This was reported by Sport RBC.UA.
The Ukrainian cleared 197 centimeters and was able to improve her personal best. On her second attempt, Maguchikh cleared 199 centimeters. Her only competitor at that height, Australian Eleanor Patterson, also cleared 199 cm, but on her first attempt.
Thus, it was Patterson who claimed victory and won the Diamond League’s top trophy for the first time in her career. The 30-year-old athlete also won the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this year, where she jumped 1.96 meters.
