Whitcoff And Kushner Held A Three-Hour Meeting At The Kremlin: All The Details

Representatives of U.S. President Donald Trump—Steve Whitcroft and Jared Kushner—arrived at the Kremlin on the evening of September 5 for talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. This was preceded by a “business lunch” with the Russian president’s special envoy Kirill Dmitriev, according to OBOZ.UA.
The American negotiators “spent 3.5 hours at a working lunch with Dmitriev.” At least, that is what official Russian news agencies are reporting.
They showed the fanfare with which the motorcade carrying Whitcroft and Kushner entered the Kremlin grounds.
A video of the start of the meeting between the American negotiators and Putin has also been released.
The Kremlin dictator welcomed the guests and described the situation they would have to address during the talks at the Kremlin as “very difficult.”
Putin stated that he plans to discuss with Whitcoff and Kushner “all the modalities of the Ukrainian settlement.”
He emphasized the “high level of trust” in the Americans as mediators in the “Ukrainian settlement.” He added that Trump continues to try to contribute to this process.
For his part, Whitcoff thanked Putin for his decision to declare a “three-day ceasefire over the Ukrainian capital” to facilitate the U.S. delegation’s visit to Kyiv. “Since midnight on September 5, the military has not carried out any strikes on Kyiv,” Putin confirmed, adding that “the Ukrainian side has significantly reduced the intensity of its strikes on Russian territory” since that time.
It is known that Ushakov and Dmitriev participated alongside Putin in the talks with Whitcoff and Kushner.
Other details of the negotiations are not yet known.
The talks concluded after 11:00 p.m. (Minsk time). Overall, Putin’s talks with Kushner and Whitcomb lasted more than three hours.
The Americans have already left the Kremlin.
What led up to this
U.S. representatives brought a “new proposal” to Moscow to end the war.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously announced in an evening address on September 4 that Trump’s special envoys would first visit Moscow and then travel to Kyiv.
“It has now been clearly established that U.S. representatives will be in Ukraine in the coming days and will visit Russia. Details were provided by the U.S. president’s team. Today we discussed that Steve Whitcroft and Jared Kushner will visit Moscow and then Kyiv on Sunday,” Zelenskyy said.
