Germany Is Launching The City Dome Project To Protect Ukrainian Cities From Missiles And Drones

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced the launch of the City Dome project, aimed at strengthening the protection of Ukrainian cities against Russian missile and drone attacks.

Pistorius made this announcement on September 8 before the start of a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense in the “Ramstein” format, according to “European Truth”.

According to the minister, Germany will join the effort to create a system designed to form a protective shield over Ukrainian cities and strengthen their defense against drones and missiles.

“I am pleased that the important City Dome project is now being implemented. As part of this project, Germany will support the creation of a shield to protect Ukrainian cities from drone and missile attacks,” said Pistorius.

He also noted that Berlin will continue to support Ukraine not only in the area of air defense but also in building up other military capabilities.

In particular, Germany plans to continue supplying Ukraine with drones and long-range ammunition. In addition, the country will finance the purchase of several tens of thousands of long-range artillery shells through a British consortium specializing in artillery and air defense. Once purchased, the ammunition will be transferred to Ukraine.

Earlier, Boris Pistorius stated that Berlin would transfer PAC-2 interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine from Bundeswehr stockpiles.
