An outbreak of the flu epidemic is probably taking place in Navapolatsk Correctional Colony #1, hundreds of prisoners fell ill, reports the MAYDAY TEAM Telegram channel.

According to the report, the medical unit of the colony is overcrowded, and in some detachments (for example, 2nd and 10th), half of the prisoners suffer from colds. This means hundreds of people.

Due to the epidemic, calls were canceled for prisoners at Navapolatsk Correctional Colony #1.

Navapolatsk correctional colony #1 is known as the dirtiest and one of the “reddest” zones. According to many prisoners, in the punishment cells of this colony, employees use real torture against prisoners: in the morning they pour a bleach solution into the room “for disinfection,” and the windows are not closed all year round, even if it is 30 degrees below zero outside. Prisoners are forced to cover their windows with towels or rags, for which they may be subject to additional punishment.

The most famous political prisoners held in penal colony #1 in Navapolatsk are Viktar Babaryka, journalists Ihar Losik and Andrei Kuznechyk.
