Lawyer Not Allowed To See Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk Again

The political prisoner's husband is sounding the alarm.

Today, political prisoner and activist of the European Belarus civil campaign Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk, who is held in colony #24 of Zarechcha, was again not allowed to see a lawyer.

Her husband Andrei Sharenda told Charter97.org about this:

“Today a lawyer came to see Palina in the colony, but to no avail. This is the third time in the last two months that the lawyer has not been allowed to see Palina.

That is, for more than two months we have no information about the conditions in which she is being kept, or about her state of health. Is she still in this colony at all?

An incommunicado regime was applied to Palina, which is a serious violation of human rights. The last short letter from my wife arrived on January 8. After that, any connection was severed.

We have great concerns about her health. Palina is very weakened by numerous transportations and constant placement in a punishment cell.

Nevertheless, Palina’s next term ends at the end of May. We ask international human rights organizations and politicians to do everything possible to save Polina.
