Gasoline and diesel prices have dropped by $0.31–0.33.
Fuel prices at gas stations in Poland have fallen by approximately 1.20–1.30 zlotys (about $0.31–0.33) per liter.
On October 5, the maximum price for AI-95 gasoline is 6.73 zlotys (about $1.73) per liter. For AI-98 gasoline, the maximum price is now 7.59 zlotys per liter (about $1.95), while diesel fuel costs no more than 7.88 zlotys per liter (about $2.03), reports Business Insider.
The announcement of maximum fuel prices was the third part of the “Lower Fuel Prices” (CPN) package, which aims to limit price increases at gas stations and reduce drivers’ fuel costs.
The third phase of the CPN program was launched after Polish President Karol Nawrocki signed a law imposing a windfall profit tax on fuel companies.
According to the government, the law paved the way for a temporary reduction in excise taxes and VAT on liquid fuels. The government plans for the entire fuel price support package to remain in effect until the end of 2026, and its cost could amount to about 5 billion zlotys (approximately $1.29 billion).
