The document is already under review by the National Security and Defense Council.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapaty has prepared and submitted for consideration by the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) a so-called war plan, according to "Ukrainska Pravda" reported on Monday, October 5, citing two high-ranking sources.
According to media reports, this is likely the first “war plan” of its kind for Ukraine. The document has been under review by the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) for several weeks.
“We need a large-scale strategy—for about 30 years—so that we, as commanders, understand which direction to move in,” commented a leader from one of the corps.
According to Ukrayinska Pravda, Drapato’s plan is intended to provide answers to questions about exactly what the Ukrainian army must do—and by when—to preserve Ukraine. The document also addresses the issue of the troops’ approach to defense—for example, whether it is advisable to keep soldiers on the front lines who serve as “eyes” and “ears” but have virtually no ability to engage in combat.
UP notes that Ukrainian military commanders have repeatedly complained about the lack of a strategic vision for continuing the war. In other words, how can one move forward without understanding the ultimate goal?
