The bridge is a strategically important point on the Russian logistics map.
The Chongar Road Bridge, which connects occupied Crimea with the occupied areas of the Kherson region via the Dzhankoy–Melitopol highway, has been completely destroyed. This was reported by the Telegram channel Dnipro Osint Garbuz citing satellite imagery.
As open-source analysts note, satellite images from September 26 showed the aftermath of new attacks in Crimea: at least three large holes were observed in the bridge deck and the pontoon bridge next to it. This was already enough to significantly impede traffic and cause traffic jams.
However, an image from September 30 shows that the situation for the occupiers has worsened: one of the bridge spans has completely collapsed.
