Trump urged Zelensky to be bolder.

Ukrainian strikes on targets within the Russian Federation—including military targets in the Moscow area and the Moscow oil refinery—were carried out with the support of U.S. intelligence. This was reported by Financial Times citing unnamed informed sources.

The publication does not disclose details, but notes that Kyiv’s Western allies are urging Washington to continue sharing intelligence with Ukraine going forward.

According to the FT, White House chief Donald Trump was “extremely impressed and inspired” by the results of the Ukrainian strikes during the G7 summit. Sources claim that he discussed this topic with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and, in private conversations, allegedly urged him to act “more boldly”.

The publication reports that in recent months, the position of U.S. officials has shifted radically: Washington no longer believes that Russia is unequivocally winning the war. Moscow, for its part, has expressed dissatisfaction with Washington’s actions.
