To achieve two goals.
On the night of August 20, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out airstrikes against strategic targets in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.
According to preliminary reports, Ukrainian drones attacked a power substation and an oil terminal, according to Dialog.UA after monitoring social media.
The 500 kV “Taman” power substation, which was “visited” by Ukrainian UAVs, is located on the Taman Peninsula in the Temryuk District of Krasnodar Krai.
It provides power to the infrastructure of the Crimean Bridge, through which Russian occupiers supply their forces in annexed Crimea. In addition, this facility transmits electricity from Russia’s Unified Energy System to the occupied peninsula.
Therefore, the “Taman” substation is a legitimate target for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The oil terminal in the village of Volna is also a legitimate target for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The fact is that it is a key export hub for the shipment of Russian energy resources across the Black Sea. The Kremlin spends the money received from the sale of energy resources to continue the war against Ukraine. The oil terminal in the village of Volna handles the transshipment of up to 20 million metric tons per year of crude oil, diesel fuel, and liquefied hydrocarbon gases from rail to sea vessels.
Ukrainian defense forces have already carried out strikes on the oil terminal in Volna, for example, on the night of May 24, 2026. Fires were reported there at that time.
