The statement was made by Iran's foreign minister.
By announcing “devastating economic operation” against Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump is attempting to divert attention from domestic economic problems. This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi on August 20 in X.
“The so-called ‘economic D-Day’ is a distraction from America’s own crisis: unprecedented levels of debt and rapidly rising debt service costs,” he asserted.
According to Arakchi, “further doubling down on failed policies will only lead to another defeat and increased hostility from the Iranian people.”
“U.S. economic terrorism poses a threat to the global economy and the sovereignty of countries around the world,” he concluded.
