The Russian Permanent Representative was asked some tough questions.
The Kremlin has no plans for a mass mobilization in Russia, which was expected to be announced after the State Duma elections this fall.
This was stated by Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya, according to "Ukrinform".
The Permanent Representative assured that a mass mobilization in Russia is not currently planned.
“Don’t worry about mobilization in Russia. It has been officially stated many times that we do not need a mass mobilization at this time, and as far as I know, it is neither planned nor expected,” he noted.
At the same time, Nebenzia added: “But let’s see what happens after the elections—and who is right and who is wrong.”
The journalist also asked Nebenzia to comment on the exodus of Russians to Georgia, which is linked to the expected mobilization in the fall, but he denied this as well.
“I wouldn’t say that tens of thousands of young Russians are fleeing to Georgia,” he said.
As a reminder, nearly 40,000 people left Russia for Georgia via a pedestrian border crossing—and this happened in just a few days. This phenomenon is linked to a mobilization in Russia, which the international community expects following the State Duma elections scheduled for September.
And although Moscow denies the mobilization, Major General Vadym Skibitsky, deputy head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, recently reported signs of mobilization in Russia.
According to him, if the Russian dictator makes a final decision, Ukrainian intelligence will record the corresponding indicators.
In addition, there are increasing signs in Russia pointing to heightened mobilization readiness. The authorities are already looking for new ways to replenish the army.
