Photos have surfaced online.
New photos of the “VNIIR-Progress” facility in Cheboksary have appeared online; they were taken on August 20, several weeks after missile strike by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, reports dialog.ua.
Judging by the published images, the plant remains in a ruined, abandoned state, and there are no signs of any restoration work.
The facility is critical to the Russian military-industrial complex. It specializes in the production of satellite navigation systems and “Kometa” antenna modules. These components are used, in particular, in Russian strike UAVs.
Judging by the photographs, some of the production facilities have sustained significant damage. However, it is impossible to confirm the exact extent of the damage based on publicly available data.
