A drone attack caused a blackout on the peninsula.

On the night of Saturday, August 22, widespread power outages occurred in the temporarily occupied Crimea. According to local authorities, the outages were caused by damage to power lines following a drone attack, reports "Dialog".

Residents of Feodosia, Sevastopol, and Yevpatoria reported explosions and the activity of mobile fire teams during the night. In Feodosia, according to preliminary information, a facility on Mount Pasha-Tepe may have been damaged.

In Yevpatoria, a drone—presumably heading toward the “Moynaki” power substation—was shot down by Russian air defense forces. Debris fell on a nine-story building on Internatsionalnaya Street, after which a fire broke out.

The “Moynaki” substation is one of the key power supply facilities for the resort area of Yevpatoria. In Sevastopol, there were also reports of mobile firefighting teams in action.

Amid power outages in certain areas of Crimea, electricity supply restrictions are in effect. Previously, the region had already experienced widespread power outages affecting, in particular, Simferopol, Sevastopol, Kerch, Feodosia, and Yalta.
