Alarm Sirens Went Off In Poland

Sirens went off in the Lublin Voivodeship.

In the Lublin Voivodeship of Poland, sirens unexpectedly went off on the morning of August 23 due to a technical glitch during a routine test of the warning system. This was reported by RMF24.

On Sunday morning, a so-called “silent test” of the warning system was being conducted in the region, during which the sirens were supposed to be checked without emitting a sound. However, in several areas, the system activated at full volume.

As reported, the sudden sound of the sirens alarmed residents of Zamość, Belgoraj, and neighboring towns.

The signal could be heard until approximately 7:00 a.m. In the event of an actual air raid alert, a three-minute continuous signal would indicate the issuance or cancellation of the corresponding warning—depending on its nature.

The local crisis center quickly reassured residents, assuring them that there was no cause for concern. Regional authorities attributed the incident to a technical error that occurred during a test of the warning system.
